  • Day 1 Arrive Port Douglas (D)

    On arrival in Cairns today, make your way to your hotel in Port Douglas. This evening we will enjoy a welcome drink and dinner, a perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travellers.(ensuite facilities).

  • Day 2 Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation & Cooktown (BLD)

    After breakfast, we travel north to the Daintree River, for a one hour wildlife cruise. After crossing the Daintree Ferry, we spend time exploring the wonders of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef.

    Then making our way along the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track (road conditions permitted), stopping off at the unique Lion's Den Hotel, before arriving at the old gold port of Cooktown, our accommodation with ensuite facilities for the next 2 nights.

  • Day 3 Cooktown (BLD)

    Today we explore Cooktown at our leisure, starting off with a drive up to Grassy Hill, for a spectacular view over Cooktown. We visit Captain Cooks Landing, the Botanical Gardens, the historic cemetery and mysterious Black Mountain. This afternoon we visit the historic James Cook Museum.

  • Day 4 Cooktown to Lakefield NP & Musgrave (BLD)

    Heading west into the outback, we visit the Quinkan Cultural Centre before we join a guided tour of Split Rock and view the Aboriginal Rock Art. Then travel on to explore Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitted), a haven for the many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. The afternoon finds us arriving at our overnight accommodation at The Old Musgrave Telegraph Station - ensuite facilities.

  • Day 5 Musgrave to Coen, Archer River & Weipa (BLD)

    This morning, we continue north stopping off at the historic frontier gold town of Coen and the picturesque Archer River, before making our way to the bauxite-mining town of Weipa. Enjoy the spectacular sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria. Accommodation with ensuite facilities.

  • Day 6 Weipa to Wenlock River & Bramwell Station (BLD)

    After breakfast you have ample time to explore the township of Weipa, or you have the option to join a Wildlife Eco River Cruise (own expense), before we head for our overnight accommodation with ensuite facilities at a 'true blue' Aussie cattle station, Bramwell Station.

  • Day 7 Bramwell to Fruit Bat Falls & Seisia (BLD)

    After an early start, we head north travelling along part of the Old Telegraph Track to arrive at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Relax, swim, and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall.

    Then northwards across the Jardine River, to arrive at Cape York! We will be staying at Seisia.

    Seisia is ideally located for our next few days, being in walking distance from the Seisia Wharf, the departure point for the ferry to Thursday Island and a famous fishing spot.

    Our accommodation at Seisia Holiday Park are cottages with ensuite facilities.

  • Day 8 Cape York to Somerset (BLD)

    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia. We then visit Somerset (road conditions permitted), once the home of the legendary Jardine family and lunch on palm fringed Anchorage Beach which overlooks the Albany Passage.

    A walk on the beach completes your day before returning to Seisia.

  • Day 9 Seisia to Thursday Island & Friday Island (BLD)

    An early morning departure as you cruise through island studded straits to explore our northern community, Thursday Island. Here you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque Harbour, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet.

    This afternoon we visit Kazu Pearl Farm on Friday Island for a fascinating tour of the pearling operation. After lunch in a tropical setting we board our ferry back to Thursday Island and our accommodation tonight (ensuite facilities).

  • Day 10 Horn Island to Cairns (BLD)

    This morning we board the ferry to Horn Island for the 'In their Steps' tour visiting various WWII sites. After lunch and a visit to the Torres Strait Heritage Museum, you board your plane for your flight back to Cairns and our final night together.

  • Day 11 Depart Cairns (B)

    After breakfast, we bid farewell to our newly made friends and the end of your Cape York Experience.

FINAL PAYMENT: Final payment is due no later then 90 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATION FEES

Bookings cancelled more than 90 days prior to tour departure - loss of deposit paid.
Cancellation between 90 and 60 days prior to tour departure - 50% cancellation fee of total tour cost.
Cancellation between 59 and 31 days prior to tour departure - 75% cancellation fee of total tour cost.
Cancellation 30 days and less prior to tour departure - 100% cancellation fee of total tour cost.
