To Australia's Cod Hole, Ribbon Reefs, & Coral Sea

Monday: A courtesy bus will pick you up from your Cairns hotel around 11:00am to transfer you to Trinity Wharf to board the vessel to begin your trip of a lifetime. The professional and friendly crew will greet you to begin the orientation of your new 'home' for the next 3 nights. Then 12 noon marks your departure beginning with a gourment lunch. A fantastic time to make new friends with fellow passengers. You will discover alot of passion in common with other avid divers, get great ideas for future dive tours and make friends for life. This first afternoon is cruising to the outer Great Barrier Reef for an afternoon orientation dive and a twilight or night dive. After dinner you will continue to cruise north along the Ribbon Reefs.

Tuesday:  After a sumptuous breakfast - diving will begin around the Number 5 Ribbon Reef at sites such as, Permission Bommie and the Clam Gardens. These sites will leave you in awe at the size and abundance of giant clams. After the morning dive your hunger will lead you to lunch, to share your stories of the giant clams and marine life with others. Enjoy an afternoon rest before the 'drift dive' in the later afternoon. Satisfy your hunger with your second dinner of the trip before a night dive at the beautiful Gorgie's Wall. Supper and bed follows and as you sleep the captain will continue to cruise north to the top of the Ribbon Reefs.

Wednesday: Dawn breakfast again and diving begins at Challenger Bay and  further on to the Cod Hole. This popular dive site is known for it's resident family of large Potato Cod (Queensland Groper). Other dives may include a drift dive at Dynamite Pass, well known as the channel between reefs for sharks to pass. Or you may visit the famous Snake Pit where you will be amazed at the abundance of Olive Sea Snakes. Lunch and late in the afternoon marks the arrival to Watson’s Bay on the very exclusive Lizard Island. Here you can experienc a BBQ dinner on the top deck. Overnight is in the seclusion of Watson’s Bay.

Thursday: This morning there will be time for a morning walk on the Lizard Island, departing to the reef again before lunch. This afternoon you will have the opportunity for two or three dives at a choice of sites on Number 10 Ribbon Reef, including the Cod Hole, Challenger Bay, Lighthouse Bommie, Pixie Wall, and Pixie Pinnacle. Sumptuous dinner awaits in the evening and while you sleep your captain motors on for an 8 hour journey to Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea.

Friday & Saturday: Osprey Reef. Australia's Coral Sea reefs are renown for crystal clear water with average visibility in excess of 100 feet. Two days can be spent diving at Osprey Reef, including North Horn, well known for its shark action. You can expect to see grey whalers, silvertips, reef sharks, occasional hammerheads, schooling barracuda, trevally, and other pelagics. The landscape is amazing with 1000 metre sheer walls laced with gorgonians, sea whips, and bright yellow soft corals.
