All cabins are air conditionined with ensuite bathrooms. There are Twin Cabins (two single beds) and Double Cabins (double bed), as well as one Quad Cabin (4 single beds) which is great for groups or families of four persons.  If you require the quad cabin please enquire as it is not advertised (charged at twin share prices).

The overall vessel design provides a spacious and comfortable 'home away from home' on The Great Barrier Reef.  With a large open sundeck and sun lounges, fresh cold water and ample seating, a spacious interior containing the top deck lounge bar with tv and a dedicated saloon dining area.  The back dive deck has toilets and fresh water showers.  Ocean Quest offers a truly unique experience for all divers and snorkelers wanting to explore this unique underwater playground.

Our liveaboard trip and visited reef sites are suitable for both snorkelers and divers.  We have 18 exclusive moorings on the Outer Reef at Norman, Saxon and Hastings Reefs.  We use a wide variety of these to ensure minimal environmental impact to the coral formations we visit.  Sites are chosen on a daily basis by the Captain for the best variety and visibility according to weather conditions.

Prescription masks are also available upon request.  Free guided snorkel tours are available.

Introductory Diving

Introductory diving is a great way to experience the exhilaration of diving without taking a full dive course. The PADI Discover SCUBA is a non certification program. During your cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef our experienced SCUBA Instructors will clearly guide you through all the skills involved. The briefing covers all the procedures that will make your day not only safe but an unforgettable experience. You can pre-book a package of 5 Intro Dives ($210pp) and subject to availability and trip duration you may be able to add more once on board.  Intro dives include dive equipment, dive computers and instructor.

More On Fluorescent Night Diving

This spectacular dive extravaganza brings the reef to life with a range of amazing colours. Bio Fluorescent Diving is available exclusively to Deep Sea Divers Den on board Ocean Quest for only $50 per dive, including specialist torches and mask filters which will enable you to see the amazing fluorescent underwater landscapes. Fluorescent diving offers a truly unique and magical experience on the Great Barrier Reef!

It's only $50 per dive which includes UV torches and mask filter. It can only be booked onboard.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  You must have night diving experience (previously have done at least 1 night dive) in order to be able to participate in the Fluoro Night Dive.

Sharks in the Dark Experience

Our Liveaboard OceanQuest (suitable for Snorkelers and SCUBA Divers) features an exclusive 'Sharks in the Dark' experience. With our SCUBA night dives you can explore the Great Barrier Reef in the dark and see all the friendly marine creatures that come out to play, including our harmless Australian Reef Sharks.
Although divers are only permitted into the water after dark, snorkelers can witness these magnificent creatures as they play in the gentle lights cast from our vessel. Grab a drink and watch these inquisitive animals patrol the waters. If conditions are calm, you may even get the chance to place on a mask and have a peek under the surface, it's common for reef sharks to pass within just feet of our vessel!
This is a safe, calm experience, the sharks having become accustomed to the vessel over many years. It is against policy for any food to enter the water.
