A four-day outback journey from Cairns featuring the Atherton Tablelands, Undara Lava Tubes, and Cobbold Gorge, with guided experiences, scenic landscapes, and a return through historic Tablelands towns.
**Departs on selected Thursday's between May - October**
Day 1: Rainforest, Tablelands & Undara
Depart Cairns around 7:30am and travel west into the Outback Savannah via the Atherton Tablelands. Stop at Lake Barrine for morning tea and views, then continue through Ravenshoe to visit Millstream Falls. Pass through Forty Mile Scrub National Park before exploring the Undara Lava Tubes on a guided tour. Finish the day with an overnight stay at Finnigan’s Rest in Forsayth, with lunch and dinner included.
Day 2: Tinaroo Hot Springs & travel Cobbold Gorge
Begin with breakfast, then visit Talaroo Hot Springs for a guided cultural experience and a relaxing soak. Travel through the outback to Einasleigh for lunch and a visit to Copperfield Gorge. Stop briefly in Forsayth before continuing to Cobbold Gorge, where you’ll stay for two nights, enjoying dinner and an evening by the campfire.
Day 3: Discover the Wonders of Cobbold Gorge
After breakfast, explore Cobbold Gorge with a guided boat cruise through its dramatic sandstone cliffs, spotting wildlife and learning about local history and culture. Optional activities like helicopter flights or paddle sports are available or relax at the village facilities. Dinner and overnight stay at Cobbold Gorge Village.
Day 4: Journey from Cobbold Gorge to Cairns through the Outback & Tablelands
Depart Cobbold Gorge and travel to Georgetown to explore its gold and gem mining history. Return via the Atherton Tablelands with optional stops at local attractions, then descend the Kuranda Range and arrive back in Cairns around 6:00pm. Breakfast and lunch included.

60 to 46 days prior to departure: 25% of the total tour cost
45 to 31 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost
30 days or fewer prior to departure: 100% of the total tour cost
