Atherton Tablelands / Waterfalls

The Atherton Tableland is a fertile plateau which is part of the Great Dividing Range in Queensland, Australia. It is located inland from Cairns, well into the tropics, but its elevated position provides a climate suitable for dairy farming. The fertility of the soils in the region can be attributed to the volcanic origins of the land.

Atherton Tablelands is a high priority on many tourists lists. With many beautiful places to visit like the waterfalls circuit which includes the famous Millaa Millaa Falls. There are volcanic crater lakes such as Lake Barrine and Lake Eacham as well as pockets of tropical rainforest and Giant Fig trees. South of the Atherton Tablelands just past Innisfail, is Paronella Park. This is an enchanting place filled with lush tropical gardens, Spanish Castle Ruins and has a great historic love story to be told.

There is a variety of Atherton Tablelands tours on offer to suit every traveller. Whether you want to spend the day full of swimming and adventure, or if you prefer a more structured tour with more attractions and sightseeing, or maybe you want to focus on the local farms and food tasting, or whether you are a nature lover and want to spend the night exploring and animal spotting.
