Itinerary:
Your day begins with a scenic coastal drive north from Cairns, the Northern Beaches, or Port Douglas, arriving at the Daintree River for morning refreshments before boarding a wildlife cruise. Keep an eye out for crocodiles, birdlife, and other native species while learning about the unique mangrove ecosystem.
After crossing the river, venture deeper into the ancient Daintree Rainforest, stopping at Alexandra Range Lookout for sweeping views and enjoying a guided walk along the Marrdja or Jindalba Boardwalk.
Continue to Cape Tribulation for lunch and free time to explore the beach, where the rainforest meets the reef—one of the only places in the world where two World Heritage areas sit side by side.
In the afternoon, visit Mossman Gorge, where you can swim in the clear rainforest waters or simply relax in the tranquil surroundings. The day concludes with a photo stop at Rex Lookout before returning to Cairns in the early evening.
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, a water bottle, sunglasses and a hat, lunch if self-catering, sunscreen and insect repellent, your ticket or voucher, a towel and swimmers—and don’t forget a sense of adventure
